Well, I will have to say, this kept me up later than I should have stayed up. I was due to get up in the weee hours of the morning for work. But, I was up past my intentional bed time having fun with these aircraft by Jason Chandler.

Now, disclaimer.... I'm still putzing around with X-Plane trying to familiarize myself with it. But, that aside, I had a fantastic time with these aircraft.

Now, I have to say, what more could you ask for here with many X-Plane aircraft? The Piper 940 set includes 14 aircraft! PA-46-500TP, PA-46-350P, PA-46-310P, PA-34-220T, PA-32R-301T, PA-44-180, PA-28R-201, PA-28R-200, PA-28-181, PA-28-161, PA-28-180, PA-28-160, PA-28-140, PA-28-235. More bang for your buck! $1 an aircraft.... $14. I think it's well worth more in my opinion.

I flew the 46-500, 46-350, 34-220, and 32-301 and had a blast. The cockpit is very nice and the graphics are great.... again, much different when compared to FSX aircraft, but from the X-Plane aircraft I've seen, this is quite well done. I've flown the stock Piper in FSX and the one included with X-Plane. The aircraft flies quite smooth.

I thought registration was a bit cumbersome. But, after getting through it, it was well worth it. Jason offers several freeware aircraft after you are registered and a great forum with screenshot contests. A very nice forum.

I'll post more screen shots later today. But, here's a link to the website: http://www.c74.net/xplane/_piper.html

This screen shot is just north of KIND approaching Eagle Creek resevoir in X-Plane. Off to low 2 o-clock would be Eagle Creek airport KEYE.

Couple more screen shots. I thought I had one of the interior, but I guess I didn't take one.

The interior is not nearly as great as what you'll see in FSX. The panel looks pretty standard to X Plane panels.

Nice shots Ted. I enjoy flying these too. The exterior finish isn't to my taste - I prefer a few more dents and scratches - but they are accurate representations for each model. I used to think the panels were pretty basic but then saw the photos of the real thing in the Piper brochures that Jason must have used to make them and am a bit more lenient. After having flown a couple of hours in FS9 this week, I was glad to get back in the saratoga. Despite their look, I find the cockpits feel much more a part of the aircraft than in FS9.

Thanks Stevo. I'm kind of the same way on the exterior. I'd like to see more detail; however, I'm taking into consideration of where development is at with X-Plane. Also, 14 planes for $14, the graphics are more than acceptable to me at that price. Posted Image

I really think we're going to see more and more detail and a lot more "opportunties" for choices as people development more add-ons for X-Plane. So, looking foward to that time.
