Just wondering..

I've got an american friend here in Newcasle UK and he told me that people in the USA dont really listen to much dance music, as it all seems to be R&B stuff... and he gets really excited when out in the clubs lol.

So, my question is, to you americans.... have you heard of and / or would you listen to this kind of music?;

Don't believe everything you see on MTV. Many people here do like R&B, but many do not. A lot of clubs here play techno, others disco. As for me, I like plain old fashion rock -n- roll. Then again....watching me dance is like seeing the Titanic sink.

Sam: no not nearly to the extent that europeans listen to dance music, ie not really on the radio that much and has a very niche audience these days. Although there was a fad during the mid 90s. But we have house and techno and by the way Kid Cudi is from chicago where house actually originates.

In North America the view has always been that synthesized music is no substitute for real musicians and real instruments... studios will bring in an entire string and wind section before they even consider using a synthesizer to do that job.
